all that i want is an open view
a monument to what's right in this life
on a cold winters night
you can't see the stars
from the city signs and power lines
and buildings that reach much too high
silt in the sky
the angle of those lines as they leave my sight
is like vhs, eyesight made crisper by cold golden lights
reflected from center
dead trees cross the darkness
limbs without leaves cross the lines
silt in the sky
angular perfection squared to the world
we fought it and by god we have won
there is order to these lines
buildings shadows against the natural sky
i know the i should hate it
i can't because i hate it
everything is connected by a power line
from here around the world
and in it's order and imperfections
i see the angles of my mind
squared to the world and at odds with the sky
